As of 2014, The New Forest Catering Company is run by Kelven Penny & Martin Smith.

Martin was appointed head chef at Dibden Golf Course, at the tender age of 19 & has never looked back! Now well into his 30’s Martin has a portfolio as a head chef spanning 16 years, most recently as development chef for multi-site home-cooked heavyweights Caracoli, based throughout north Hampshire. Martin has payed his dues as a chef in 5 star hotels in London & Bristol & also spent 3 seasons as catering manager at Butlins Skegness, where he was responsible for 60 staff, producing some 50,000 covers per week.

Martin holds the revered NVQ grade 3 awards in cheffing, hospitality supervision, implementing food safety management procedures & food hygiene, not to mention, holding a personal alcohol license & being a trained first-aider!

Away from catering, Martin is married to Vicky, they have two children & reside in the waterside area. Martin enjoys golf, (watching!) football & sadly goes without saying, cooking for the whole family!

Kelven Penny is a product of Bournemouth University, having studied Small Business Management there, way back in 2002.

A familiar figure in the south coast shipping industry prior to studying, Kelven honed his skills for meticulous organisation whilst representing large foreign ship owners, whilst their vessels visited UK ports.

Since starting The New Forest Catering Company, Kelven has planned & performed maître d’ duties at over 50 successful weddings.

Kelvens team are assembled from experienced hospitality staff who pride themselves on first class service.

A keen musician, Kelven has played with many Southampton based bands, performed a prestigious slot at the Glastonbury festival & achieved modest chart success in the UK.

Kelven is also a very keen sportsman who plays golf, football & runs.
